Welcome to Closet Half Empty

I am actually an optimist at heart but when it comes to clothes I always feel that I never have enough - thus my closet is always 'half empty'. What happens when you stop looking in malls for clothes and start looking back into your own closet?

Fashion Show

Hello again (two times in one day!)

Well yes, I guess I am still motivated, seeing it is my first day. I thought I would talk about what is on my mind...Saturday night. An event where an outfit must be *perfect*. Now typically an occasion like this would have me running out to look for said, *perfect* outfit. I would spend hours in the mall and say self-defecating comments to myself while looking in the mirror. (And I use to think this was the fun part?). Instead tonight, before my husband gets home, and before dinner (don't want to feel bloated) I will be going downstairs to the basement where I keep my dresses. I will pull 5-6 options, and bring them upstairs to try on, get down to two, put those on the back of my closet door, and bring the remainders back down to the basement. Then my husband will only have to choose between two outfits during my 'fashion show' tomorrow before the party. I typically do this a day to months before an event depending on the occasion, people attending etc, that way if I need a pair of complimenting shoes, nylons etc I have plenty of time to get them. However, since I will not be able to leave the house for the accessories to go along with the dress, starting this late in the game, doesn't seem so bad. I might try taking 'blog' pictures! yikes! happy friday!

Introduction

Hi All!

My name is Meghan and I am now officially blogging! YAY. I love blog communities so I decided to start my own blog about something I am interested in...clothing.

Due to monetary constraints and big saving goals in 2010, I decided to not buy clothing for a whole year. My husband was ecstatic!

I must note, for the sake of the blog, there are a few exceptions to this challenge:
1.) Any wedding dresses/accessories etc I am required to buy as part of being a bridesmaid.
2.) Nylons - they rip so I may need new ones if I don't have them already in my drawer.
3.) If I gain tons of weight - I refuse to struggle into clothes for the sake of this challenge and walk around like a sausage in casing.

I also must say that this is for me, Meghan. Not for you, I am not a professional writer or dresser, I simply want to see what I can come up with in my closet. We've all heard the expression, (while standing in front of our closet full of clothes) "I have nothing to wear" well that blog name was taken, but that is really the nature of this blog - looking at clothes, combinations, accessories with a different mind-set!
